Having the need for a pair of trousers that were suitable for not too demanding motorbike rides, we tinkered a bit among the thousands of proposals on the XLMoto website and in the end we ordered the Oslo Aramide jeans. Arriving with the usual speed we immediately put them to the test, wandering the hills on a beautiful spring day.
Right resistance for a non-binding use
The fabric is soft to the touch but with the air of a right resistance (it is in denim reinforced with the aramid fiber on the buttocks and on the knees), and the seams are solid, especially that of the central button that on garments even the noblest at times it looks a bit like a dancer. There are comfortable belt loops, and the two front pockets are rather roomy and deep. Instead, it is decidedly narrow and not very usable the additional right pocket, as well as a hairless safe there seemed to be the two rear if that’s where you usually keep the wallet better to use one of those with the chain “Harley Style”.
Definitely comfortable, but better in the cool season
Wearing them the feeling is very very comfortable. The interior, from the waist to the knee, is lined with a soft mesh, and the contact with the skin is extremely pleasant. Maybe it could turn out to be a bit too “hot” on some hot summer days, and it certainly won’t help the choice of black color, but we reserve the right to note its thermal effectiveness soon, and especially next winter.
The internal net presents the pockets to contain CE approved protections the hips and knees, which are not included in the package and must be ordered separately. This caused us an initial disappointment, but it was well specified on the site (our mistake, therefore), and considering the total cost of trousers + protections, and bearing in mind that for purchases over 50 euros shipping is free, the price remains absolutely competitive, especially given the quality.
It should be noted that the sizes are adequate to European standards. In the sense that, accustomed now to Chinese products modeled on physical minutes for which it is always good to choose an extra size, we opted for a usual W34 L34 taking as reference the usual Levi’s 501, and in fact we did well, indeed, as width would have been right also the 33, it will mean that we will have margin for an additional slice of cake at the end of a meal on the top a few steps or near some beach. In any case, the size change is free and possible within 60 days.
Excellent also for daily use
In conclusion, these Oslo Aramide Course jeans are great trousers, not too technical but sufficiently protective, comfortable in fit and in use by riding with your legs firmly curled up, and above all easily usable even once you get off the bike to enter someplace without looking a cross between an astronaut and a diver. Obviously, if you have to face a trip to the North Cape, you need more, but for a picnic or a weekend at the beach, they are an ideal compromise. Or why not, also to move around the city every day, on the XLMoto website there is a wide variety of models and colors, after all, it is enough to remove the internal protections and the sight becomes normal jeans. Anzo no, do not take them off, that a little more security certainly does not hurt, and then in my part, it says: “Better to be afraid than to bus carne”
